FAQ:

What is recruitment?

Recruitment is typically a 1-2 week process where girls get to know each of the 13 sororities on our campus. During these interactions, your daughter will meet active members of each chapter that will provide more information and have fun conversations with the potential new member! Through this mutual selection process, potential new members learn the ideals of each sorority including their philanthropy, sisterhood, and social events.

Why should my student join a Greek organization?

At the University of Arizona, we take great pride in our Greek organizations and all that they stand for. College can be so much more than just classes and homework; it is also a time for growth and development. Greek Life can foster the education of the whole person.  Having your student be a part of a Greek organization means several things, including long-lasting friendships, improved academics, leadership development, campus involvement, community service, and so much more.

Does Alpha Chi Omega haze their new members?

Absolutely not. Alpha Chi Omega does not permit hazing of any kind. Hazing  is a matter that Alpha Chi Omega takes very seriously. Because of its long-lasting impact on those who may experience hazing, Alpha Chi Omega works to educate members throughout the year on what hazing is and how to prevent it.

What is required of my daughter to join the sorority?

Our chapter has specific scholarship, financial, and participation expectations of its members. Your daughter will need to meet the required GPA, pay all dues and fees on time, and attend the minimum amount of chapter events and activities in order to remain a member in good standing. If you or your daughter has questions about these requirements, please contact our chapter's Vice President of Standards.
